As quantity surveyors our cost planning framed the development budget whilst are cost management team advised on and managed contractor procurement and managed project costs and undertook financial reporting.
Critical to the success of the project was the knowledge and experience of our project management team who skilfully managed the competing stakeholder considerations associated with contemporary architecture being constructed within a historically sensitive location, and our approach to managing change effectively. For example, the unexpected discovery of 48 unrecorded skeletons on the first day of groundworks posed a unique challenge. We worked collaboratively with archaeologists, the local authority, and the police to manage the situation without impacting the programme end date.
From concept to completion on site our principal designers meticulously ensured health and safety risks during development in a live residential setting, and environmental impacts, were mitigated to the lowest practicable level.
