Set against the backdrop of the Peak District and close to Chesterfield and Derby, Oak Fields is a thoughtfully designed development.
As a multi-disciplinary practice with extensive knowledge and experience of the residential sector we were selected to support this joint venture between Northwood Group Ltd and Northeast Derbyshire District Council to build 193 timber-frame homes, associated infra-structure, and public realm spaces.
In our role a monitoring surveyor we advised on contract selection and framed a robust and efficient procurement strategy. One that was suitable for a project of this scale and complexity. Post contract award, we were retained to provide expert oversight throughout the delivery of the first two phases of this five-year development, located on a former agricultural site.
Comprising properties ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms, including affordable homes, the development is surrounded by mature oak trees, green open spaces, and scenic water features.
It benefits from excellent transport links, access to local amenities, schools, and new walking and cycling routes constructed during the restoration of adjacent riverside land and is therefore an excellent example of a mixed development scheme that addresses demand for housing, from a cross section of the community, whilst blending modern living with natural beauty.
