Overview
This large scale health centre was a particularly complex project as it included the extension and restoration of a Grade 2 listed building.
The large former foundry building in the heart of historic Stourbridge was converted into a state of the art medical centre with 40 consulting and treatment rooms.
As well as works to the existing structure, there is also a modern extension added on to the building. The finished facility now houses GP services, physiotherapy suites, a dental surgery and a pharmacy.
The site is located adjacent to the river Stour and part of the project involved the remodeling of the river corridor and the decontamination of the ground on the former historic foundry site.
Greenwoods acted as Client’s Project Manager and Monitoring Surveyor.
The project was successful in securing a prestigious RICS West Midlands 2015 Award in the ‘Community Benefit’ category and was also highly commended in the ‘Building Conservation’ category.
