Overview

Greenwoods acted as Project Manager on behalf of the GPs on this complex health centre scheme in Birmingham.

The centre was part of a larger mixed use community scheme connected to All Saints Church, the health centre being phase one with a value of £ 1.6million.

The project faced a number of challenges including initial funding issues which led to extensive value engineering; a very constrained site in a busy city high street; and complex extensive third party stakeholder inputs associated with the Church acting as ultimate developer.

The project also suffered as a result of the contractor going into administration during the works.

Greenwoods role was to oversee the development from inception to completion on behalf of the GPs. We liaised with the District Valuer and the Church (in this case acting as the developer) to ensure that the design of the scheme met the requirements of all relevant legislation.

We then monitored progress and cost on site. We also had ultimate responsibility for the quality of the build being to the required NHS standards in order to ensure DV sign off.

This and subsequent phases have now been completed and a vibrant community project is at the heart of this new village square.
