Overview
Wimpole Estate is a large estate containing Wimpole Hall, located within the Parish of Wimpole, Cambridgeshire. Wimpole Hall is a grade I listed building.
The house was originally built in 1640, and its 3,000 acres of parkland and farmland are owned by the National Trust and are regularly open to the public. Wimpole is the largest house in Cambridgeshire.
The works to be carried out are restoration works to Wimpole Hall’s Folly. The works involved was the repair of the structure, stabilization of the stonework and reinstatement of missing components of the building, while preserving the natural weathered look that has taken place over many years creating an original ruined appearance. The Folly was originally built in the 18th century to look like a ruined gothic tower.
