Overview
Greenwoods are the appointed Quantity Surveyors to The Dean and Chapter of Lichfield Cathedral.
Additionally David Crump (Greenwoods MD) is Honorary Development Advisor to The Dean and Chapter, a voluntary position advising Chapter on best use of its estate.
Currently Greenwoods are involved in a number of projects within the Cathedral and The Close, which totals 87 properties. These range from small refurbishments to significant elements of restoration.
Most significantly, the Cathedral is currently undertaking a major Masterplanning process to deliver a strategy for future development over the next twenty years. Greenwoods are managing this process. As part of this a major application for HLF funding is being prepared to deliver new visitor facilities, café, shop, etc. within the close, provide new facilities to display the Cathedral Treasures within the Cathedral itself and importantly to open up the Moat to the public for the first time. Lichfield is the only Moated Cathedral in England and the Moat is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. This project will total in excess of £8million and is currently in the pre-contract planning stage.
