Overview
Greenwoods managed the major new build project for SENSE, the deaf blind charity. This will be a major mixed use scheme in the heart of Selly Oak, Birmingham, incorporating new office accommodation, education spaces, childrens nursery, special needs facilities, theatre and performance space as well as specialist treatment areas for children and respite areas for parents.
The scheme incorporated significant external works, sensory gardens, car parking and a canal side environment with challenging topography to incorporate into the scheme.
The site was a constrained city centre plot with a major road on one side and the canal on the other. Access was limited and the site had significant environmental issues to resolve before being developable.
